Insect Indentification
I remember several years ago a section of our front landscaping was crawling with a type of bug I had never seen before. Our plants seemed to be doing ok, so I left the bug and realized that, like identifying plants, I could learn to identify insects. This would come in handy while gardening. I am glad that I decided to learn about this particular insect prior to going in and removing them by hand because I learned this bug was called a blister beetle! Wow! That would have been a painful lesson if I went in and removed them barehanded. Since then I am always identifying new insects. It has been a great skill and asset to have especially in the garden. Some insects are beneficial and some are harmful to the garden. I hope you enjoy learning with me.
As insect identification articles are published, they will be organized below in a list, so you can more easily find exactly what you’re looking for.
Squash Bugs
I do believe that squash bugs are the worst garden pest I have ever dealt with. This video shows you what they look like and how to kill them.
Japanese Beetles
Thankfully Japanese Beetles are not a problem every year, but the year I recorded this video, they were.
